What is Southern Line Atlanta? |
|
Southern Line Atlanta is a Gay,
Lesbian, Bisexual Country Western Line Dance team. We have the PROUD distinction
of being the southeast's OLDEST GLB country western dance team with over TEN
years of history. Southern Line Atlanta has been around for quite some
time. |
|
What do I do if I'm
interested in becoming a member |
|
The only
REAL requirement is a love of country western dancing and a willingness to
commit to come to weekly practice (as displayed on the calendar). A willingness
to learn and have fun is also required :) You should be familiar with basic
two-step and basic line dancing. If you have specific questions, feel free to
contact us through e-mail. Southern Line Atlanta is both an exhibition and
competition team and will be attempting to participate in several conferences
around the country as well as several performance possibilities here in the
Atlanta area. |
|
What kind of dances does
the team perform? |
|
Southern Line Atlanta
performs a WIDE (and I do mean WIDE) variety of dancing styles. Not only do we
honky-tonk with the best of them, but we also like to throw a little salsa,
swing, and some of the modern pop music to add some spice to our routines. We've
performed routines ranging from Ricky Martin's "La Bomba" to Ty Herdon's "Tears
in God's Eyes". The styles of dance include swing, two-step movements,
line-dance movements, waltz, and a little clogging from time to time. The dances
are choreographed by the team choreographer with the help of the team
members.
