Southern Line Atlanta or SLA is a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Country Western Line Dance team. We have the proud distinction of being the southeast’s oldest GLB country western dance team with over ten years of history. Southern Line Atlanta has been around for quite some time.

Atlanta Pride Performance 2001

SLA performs a wide (we do mean WIDE) variety of dancing styles. Not only do we honky-tonk with the best of them, but we also like to throw a little salsa, swing and some of the modern pop music to add some spice to our routines. We’ve performed routings ranging from Ricky Martin’s “La Bomba” to Ty Herndon’s “Tears in God’s Eyes”. The styles of dance include swing, two-step movements, line-dance movements, waltz and a little clogging from time to time. The dances are choreographed by the team choreographer with the help of the team members.

We are members of the International Association of Gay and Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs (IAGLCWDC). This organization allows dance teams and individuals who are members to compete in competitions in categories such as Line Dance, Waltz, Two-Step, Cabaret and Group. We have won numerous IAGLCWDC awards such as third place in last years nationals, cabaret division in Houston, Texas. We also took first place in Norfolk, Virginia during Norfolk’s own The Othersiders IAGLCWDC sanctioned Salt Water Hoedown. Many of our team members took home individual awards in line dance, two-step and waltz. We are very proud of our team
